Director of Maritime and International Affairs
The Director of Maritime and International Affairs will have the primary responsibility for developing and maintaining relationships in the maritime and naval communities throughout the world. Specifically, the Director of Maritime Affairs will build relationships through the Organization of America States, The Maritime Alliance, Department of Defense Security Assist program offices and work directly with political, maritime, and naval leaders from Latin American, Caribbean, European, and Asian nations. The Director of Maritime Affairs will advance Gnostech’s interests in the fields of: maritime cybersecurity, port and maritime security, naval warfare systems, and the use of space technologies in the maritime and port environments. The Director of Maritime Affairs will manage a complex portfolio of contacts/ relationships which encompasses a network of US and International Naval and Maritime clientele.

Typical: Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm

Extended hours to establish and maintain relationships within the international maritime and naval communities
Travel

Foreign travel expected to be 25%-50%

Position Responsibilities

Maintain existing relationships within the international, maritime and naval communities
-
Develop new relationships within the international, maritime and naval communities
-
Develop Gnostech growth strategies in target international markets

Execute international growth strategy

Work with the CEO/President and Vice President to develop long-term U.S. DoD relationships
-
Advise the CEO/President and Vice President on matters pertaining to international trade ethics
-
Advise CEO/President and Vice President on matters pertaining to Gnostech’s Guiding Principles
Minimum Security Clearance

Required Qualifications and Skills
-
8+ years of international relations experience with direct interaction with senior politicians, naval officers, and maritime industry leaders on the international stage

15+ years of leadership experience in port and maritime operations

Fluent Spanish and/or Portuguese speaker

Ability and willingness to comprehend complex technical and engineering concepts

Able to develop and maintain strong relationships
Additional Desired Qualifications, Skills, Certifications
Education and Training Required
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university
